If life has taught me anything it would be the importance of the manifestation of love. I have lived my life with a drive to continue to spread love outwards to the rest of the world. I have learned a lot and I have failed many times before, but I am glad to be where I am today. I feel stronger and deeply in tune with my own heart that leads me on my path. Today I felt the need to express my thoughts on love coming from an empathetic perspective. Perhaps it will resonate with you or maybe it won't, but my heart tells me to share and so that is what I am doing**
Empathy
I am standing in a group of people or walking through a crowd. I either know these people or have a burning desire to connect with everyone of them. I am overwhelmed. My body tightens up and I begin to lose my breath. My mind is saying, "It's ok darling, just be you, smile, be strong, mistakes are ok, you're not perfect." My body feels tender and the air around me touches my skin and makes the hair on my body stand up. I feel like I am nothing, and at the same time I feel EVERYTHING. I strike up a conversation with someone and I become very excited, but I mask it will calm cool collectedness. I am not calm and there is a little child in my mind saying "Love me?" I become distracted by this awareness and my eyes dart around the room. What I am feeling is an intense overload of energies, pulling me in all directions, wanting my attention and leaving me drained and anxious. Sometimes the energy is perfectly balanced and positive, but when it is not I feel defeated.
These are the moments of the heart that burn so bright. These moments are protected with fear, flight or fight. I usually choose to fight but sometimes I run. I have become so accustomed to protecting my big heart that I have robbed myself from the very thing that I so crave: connection. This may be true for others out there who are sensitive to energies and have big beating hearts for the world around them.
Through much trial and error I have learned about these moments and what they mean. I have learned about who I am and how I react. I am also still working through this but I know that I am on the road to FREEDOM.
TIPS FOR EMPATHS
-When you are feeling highly sensitive you will want to protect yourself by guarding who you really are. In these times, let your spirit flow through every emotion. This is the real you, you are being a human.
-Be gentle with yourself and treat your heart like it is a little child. You are still learning and that is ok :)
-If you are met with negativity, allow yourself to breathe through it and channel it towards something else. Think of something or someone you really love. This creates good karmic flow and channels the heart.
-If you are down about yourself, how you are feeling or someway that you have treated someone, allow yourself to feel and then move on. We all have bad days and sometimes no matter what we do we can act mean, rude and negative towards others. YOU ARE OK, and not a bad person. Remember that the next time you have one of those days. These times balance out the beautiful in you. Take a bath, eat a strawberry and go to bed early. You will wake up the next day knowing that you did your best and you are ready to treat the next person with love (because you just loved yourself!)
-Feed your insides: Feed your belly with good healthy food, Feed your mind with happy healthy thoughts, Feed your eyes with beautiful places, Feed your ears with calm lovely sounds, Feed your heart with the people you love and Feed your soul with your deepest and truest desires.
RELATIONSHIPS
Friendships, family and lovers are what make the world go round. They are also the best learning tools on how to better yourself and act with love. I know that when I am in a situation where who I am is questioned by someone that I love, I instantly act with defensiveness. I have been working on this for a while and I have realized that the ones closest to us often project their own unhappiness onto us, because it is safe. In these times remember that you are strong, living the way you want to live and you are so loved. You can meet this person with compassion because you know that they are suffering. You are then allowed to take some space to nurture yourself because you have been hurt. It is a cycle of LOVE.
-Through many relationships I have come to understand that LOVE is an ACTION
- You may not agree with the way that someone thinks or lives, but you can LOVE and APPRECIATE who they ARE
- You may be angry with someone close to you that has hurt you. You are beautiful and strong, you are allowed to feel angry. However, don't forget to realize that the person who has hurt you is also suffering and if you love them, you wish that they were happy. Send them positive healing energy and the relationship will mend because LOVE means UNDERSTANDING.
-Sometimes in love, you have to let someone go. They no longer bring joy into your life and perhaps the relationship has been clouded by pain. It is ok to let them go. This is LOVE. This is letting you and the one you love, live the life they so choose. By letting go, you are setting your LOVE free!
Lastly,
LOVE WHO YOU ARE
-Love your mistakes; they make you wise
-Love your body: you are a beautiful piece of art
-Love your personality: you are unique, and the only YOU
-Love what you do: you do these things because they make you happy!
-Love your weaknesses: they remind you that you are a learning, growing human being
-Love your strengths: halleluia, you've got those strengths. Flaunt them!
-Love the ones that never leave you: they are there for a reason, to cheer you on and life you up
-Love your life: learn about what makes you healthy, happy and strong.
AND REMEMBER...
You are so loved.
Peace and LOVE everyone**
